::  Request to TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India/BHARAT) about the Common Issues  ::

*) Request #1 for Requirement of minimizing MNP (Mobile Number Portability) lock-in time to 1 Day. :
AADHAAR registered Mobile Number is very important for many Secured (Bank, OTP, etc.) services.  MNP lock-in time need to be minimized from 90 days to 1 day, without UPC Code.  Because, if Telecom service is stopped (or shutdown), it may be very difficult (or not possible) to do MNP process.  Now, 'Telecom Service Provider (TSP)' is issuing new SIM/eSIM with eAADHAAR/eKYC Authentication.  So, UPC Code concept may not be required as part of MNP process.
SIM Ex:  GSM
eSIM Ex:  CDMA
vSIM:  Virtual SIM

eAADHAAR/eKYC Authentication can be helpful highly, to overcome Cyber Crimes.

*) Request #2 for Requirement of Device compatibility service. :
Advice 'Device Manufacturer' and 'Telecom Service Provider' for Device compatibility service.

For Mobile Network Services 2G/3G/4G/5G  GSM/CDMA/LTE/VOLTE are part of Network (Bandwidth) Settings and are related to Speed.
LED/OLED/QLED/4K screen and SD/HD/FHD/QHD/UHD are part of the Audio and Video (enhancement Software) Settings.
The width/weight (and size) of the Device can be reduced for thin/trim, with PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Technology.

People need not to buy the new device all the time.

Similarly, for DTH TV Services also, Device compatibility service is possible.

Issues with updating the Network Settings or Software for a Device:
-> Scenario 1: In the following situations, the 'Device Manufacturer' / 'Telecom Service Provider' is asking to buy the new Device; 'without updating the Network Settings' or 'without updating the Software even though latest (customized) compatible software is available', for the existing Device:
  - When Telecom Customer is moving from one 'Telecom Service Provider' to other 'Telecom Service Provider', with/without MNP process.
  - By deactivating the existing Device.
  - By saying 'the existing Device is older than 5 Years'.
  - By creating issues in 'the existing Device and its Spare parts'.
  - By saying 'latest (customized) compatible software is not available'.
  - By saying 'Spare parts are not available'.
-> Scenario 2: In the following situations, the 'Device Manufacturer' / 'Telecom Service Provider' is asking to exchange the existing Device for new Device with additional cost; 'without updating the Network Settings' or 'without updating the Software even though latest (customized) compatible software is available', for the existing Device:
  - By deactivating the existing Device.
  - By saying 'the existing Device is older than 5 Years'.
  - By creating issues in 'the existing Device and its Spare parts'.
  - By saying 'latest (customized) compatible software is not available'.
  - By saying 'Spare parts are not available'.
This is similar to buying a new Device.
-> Scenario 3: In some other situations, the Device Manufacturer is not allowing to update the software by locking it with customized software, even though the latest (customized) compatible software is available.

These scenarios are applicable for Computers (Desktop, Laptop, etc.) also.

And also, the new Devices are not giving the speed/efficiency 'as per' or 'near to' specifications; and these are very expensive.
Other than to all this, Guaranty/Warranty limitations.  Guaranty/Warranty extension charges are very expensive.  After Guaranty/Warranty, the spare part charges are very expensive.

Device compatibility service is possible with Network Settings or Software update.
People can buy or exchange for the new Device based on their feasibility/wish/passion.  It should not be as a mandatory process.

We can minimize e-Waste with Device compatibility service.

*) Request #3 for Installation of (only) Required Apps in the Device (Mobile/Smartphone/Tab/Computer). :
-> Advice 'Device Manufacturer' and 'Device Operating System Provider', that they are not supposed to install unnecessary Apps, by default/force.
Most of the People depends on the few Apps, based on their Requirement/Need.  But, 'Device Manufacturer' or/and 'Device Operating System Provider' is/are installing many unnecessary Apps by default/force.  Moreover, they are not allowing to uninstall some of the unnecessary Apps.  These unnecessary Apps are consuming highly Internet DATA usage/traffic, Battery time, and Memory; for the unnecessary installation and frequent updates of them.  It effects the overall Performance of the Device.
Thus, 'Internet traffic, Battery time, Memory, Speed/Efficiency, Performance, and Security/Privacy' of the Device will be improved optimistically; with the installation of specific/required Apps.

*) Request #4 for Free Device Repair/Replacement Service for the continuation of paid Services, in case of Service interruption.:
As of now, 'Telecom Service Provider' is providing Telecom Service for the Devices (Dongle, DTH, etc.), by selling the Device at initial stage of the Service.  Then, Telecom Customer is paying for the continuation of the Service.
When the Telecom Service is getting interrupted for the reasons of Device damage/upgradation, 'Telecom Service Provider' is asking to buy the new Device.  These kind of Service interruptions are not due to negligence of Telecom Customer towards handling the Device.
As Telecom Customer is paying for the continuation of the Service, 'Telecom Service Provider' must provide Free Device Repair/Replacement Service, for any Service interrupted reasons.

*) Request #5 for Requirement of a default/basic/base Plan. :
Advice 'Telecom Service Provider' to make a default/basic/base Plan with Tele charges (for Call/SMS/Internet), based on consumption but not based on Validity.  Because, Recharge validity due-dates are getting completed/expired, in case of the following Service issues.
-> Abnormal Internet disconnections.
-> Very slow Internet.
-> (Some of the) Apps work very slowly.
-> Call drops; Lack of Voice clarity in Calls; and Voice breaking in Calls.
-> Voice resounds while receiving the Calls.
-> Network Busy.
-> Signal points Up & Down.  Weak Signal.
-> No Dial Tone.
-> Service is interrupted/break-down.
-> Service is not provided.
-> Not Registered in Network.

In the proposed default/basic/base Plan (for at least AADHAAR registered Mobile Number),
-> Free Incoming.
-> Free Roaming.
-> Call charges need to be Second pulse rate, i.e., at least 1 Paisa per Second.
-> Internet charges are very high, if the Internet Data is consumed (without Validity) from Main account balance; when it is compared to separate 'Internet Data Plan Recharge (with Validity)'.  The variation is due to the charges are calculated '(without Validity) from Main account balance' in KB, and '(with Validity) from Plan Recharge' in GB.
-> SMS charges are also very high, if it is consumed (without Validity) from Main account balance; when it is compared to separate 'SMS Plan Recharge (with Validity)'.
Thus, the Tele charges (for Call/SMS/Internet) need to be revised, for the proposed default/basic/base Plan.
For the convenience of the People, 'AADHAAR registered Mobile Number' need to be ACTIVE always.

For DTH TV Services also, the default/basic/base Plan is based on consumption but not based on Validity.  Because, Recharge validity due-dates are getting completed/expired, in case of the following Service issues.
-> Signal not available due to Rain, Video hanging, etc.
-> Video distractions/hanging.  Lack of Video/Voice clarity.
-> (Some of the) TV Channels are not having Video/Voice clarity.
-> TV Channels are making more cuts while telecasting decent Movies.
-> Very restricted TV Channels.
-> While telecasting a specific (Movie, Songs, Panel Discussion, Live, Analysis/Event/News Report, etc.) Programme, TV Channels are making the Advertisements as follows:
  Displaying Advertisements more than the Scrolling area.
  The time duration of Advertisements is much more than the time duration of actual Programme.
-> Displaying Blank Screen.
-> Channel(s) mismatch.
-> Displaying 'Not Subscribed' error message for Subscribed and 'Free To Air (FTA)' Channels.
-> Some of the 'Free To Air (FTA)' Channels are not available.
-> Service is interrupted/break-down.
-> Electricity failures.
-> Service is not provided.
-> Subscription (renewal) activation failures.
-> Delay in Subscription (renewal) activation.
Other than these issues, making many restrictions (with many Plans and then many more Add-Ons) in charges for one Service.
As of now, People can watch only one channel for one TV/Device at a time, but, have to face many complications for that.
People watch Channels based on language, i.e., Mother-tongue and/or known language(s).
TV channels get profits from Sponsors and Advertisements.
Thus, the charges need to be revised, for the proposed default/basic/base Plan.
'Free To Air (FTA)' Channels are best.

*) Request #6 to Create value for the Prepaid Recharge (with Validity Plan), by extending the Validity, instead of updating it. :
Issues with the Prepaid 'Recharges with Validity'. :
-> Balance is getting lapsed, in case the Recharge is not done within 'Validity Expired/Due Date'.
-> If the Recharge is done earlier (before 'Validity Due Date'), the remaining Validity days are lapsed.
Due to these issues, either Balance or ‘Validity Time’ are affected.  Both are valuable parameters as part of the Service.
Issue Resolution :  If the Recharge is done on or before 'Validity Due Date', it is a great idea to add the Validity time from the 'Validity Due Date' instead of 'Present Date'.
For example, today date is 5-JAN-2018; and the Recharge validity due date is 10-JAN-2018.  If Recharge is done today, the validity recharge/extension date need to be considered from 11-JAN-2018, instead of today date.  If Recharged is done after due date (suppose 15-JAN-2018), the validity recharge date need to be considered from the same date (i.e., 15-JAN-2018).  Additional Info

‘Plan Renewal’ can be Automatic based on ‘Telecom Customer subscription for Auto-Plan-Renewal for the required Plan (i.e., same Plan by default..... or..... any other Plan by choice)’ and ‘Main Account Balance availability’.  Grace time period is helpful for Telecom Customer to take decision about the Plan change or to stop the Auto-Plan-Renewal process.

'Recharge for Specific Date' is also very good idea.  In this, Recharge is applicable from Specific Date.

Thus, Recharge Process can be in three modes.
-> Recharge (auto) Renewal:  Recharge for (auto) Plan Renewal.
-> Recharge Now:  Recharge for Plan activation immediately.
-> Recharge for Specific Date:  Recharge for Plan activation on Specific Date.

Combo plans are very helpful for Telecom Customers.

*) Request #7 to increase Time duration to 3 Minutes, for the Dial-tone of the Incoming CALL.
Recently, Time duration of the Dial-tone (of Incoming CALL) is minimized to 30 Seconds from 3 Minutes.  It became very difficulty for Physically Challenged People and Senior Citizen, while receiving the Incoming CALLs.
When People try to receive the Incoming CALL, the CALL is getting dis-connected, due to very less Dial-tone Time duration.  Due to this issue, People are trying for the CALL more than once.  Due to these repeated CALLs, Network is also becoming Busy, as both Caller and Receiver are trying to Dial for the CALL simultaneously.

*) Request #8 for making Devices (Laptop, Mobile, Dongle, etc.) with (built-in) Battery independent. :
Advice 'Device Manufacturers' for making Devices with Battery independent.

Presently, Devices are made with Battery dependent.  If Battery doesn't work and its replacement is not available for various reasons, then that Device becomes e-waste.  If the Device works with independent of (internal) Battery, and also works with external 'Electricity / UPS / Power Bank' directly; then that Device Life will be improved.
