The objective of the BIRRD (Balaji Institute of Surgery, Research and Rehabilitation for the Disabled) hospital is to provide free medical treatment/facilities to those suffering from polio myelitis, cerebral palsy, congenital anomalies, spinal injuries, and the orthopaedically handicapped; irrespective of religion, caste or creed.

BIRRD is one of the TTD organizations.  It is located at TIRUPATI.  BIRRD operates from a spacious hospital with a capacity of more than 250 beds.  It has five operation theatres, a modern Artificial Limb Fitting Centre (that provides aids and appliances to physically handicapped patients) and a sophisticated Physiotherapy Department.
